Synthesis of the new lost foam refractory coatings based on talc

This paper is focused on the preparation procedures, using a talc-based filler, to improve rheologic properties of lost foam refractory coatings. Talc, with grain size 40 ?m, was mechanically activated in vibration mill over following times: 10, 20 and 30 min. Depending time required for mechanical activation, change filler shape analysed along their effects talc-filled coating dispersion ability stability. In order characterize methods were used: X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy optic microscopy. The composition tuned by choosing suitable factor filler. addition, different components (additives, solvent) applied alter generation procedure. It shown that application this type coatings ? water-based have positive influence quality aluminium alloy castings, which contributes reducing cost cleaning processing castings. Also, alcohol-based fillers tested used castings produced sand moulds.
